On The Eleventh Day Of Christmas...

On The Eleventh Day Of Christmas...

“Why would God make Himself one of us?”

God became a man because He wants to know your hurts, and hurt with you. He went through every emotion, He was angry, tempted, tired, He experienced pain and even shed tears. He did that so that not only we could know Him, but that He could fully know us.

Not only did He desire to experience our pain, but to take our death. Jesus took your place, your punishment, by coming to the earth and dying in your place.

Rather, He made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!
— Philippians 2:7-8

Unfortunately, “Christ died for you.” has become a cliche as well. Unless we understand why, those words and their meaning are lost.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
— Romans 3:23

Application For Today

Christ is enough for us! No matter what we did last night, or last year, His grace covers our past with forgiveness and love. He is empathetic to our struggles, yet He is powerful enough to lift us out of them and into His comforting embrace. Take 5 minutes to listen to this song by Hillsong Worship and reflect of the truths above.
