Visiting From Harvest Bible Chapel?

We want to first thank you for visiting Mission Church. Whether you have visited us in person or are visiting us online, we want to be a church that welcomes people from all walks of life in order to help them find and follow Christ.

As someone who is visiting from Harvest Bible Chapel, we want to express our sorrow for any hurt the Church has caused you and we hope and trust God will use His Church to bring healing and restoration in your life in the months and years to come. In addition to that, we are actively praying for the leadership of Harvest Bible Chapel as they navigate these difficult times.

We believe relationships that have any chance of thriving begin with helpful and honest expectations. Therefore, as you visit Mission Church, we want to be crystal clear in letting you know what you will experience in and through Mission Church.

We Teach In Series: Sometimes a series is through a book of the Bible and lasts up to 9 months. Other times a series anchors to a single passage and can be much shorter. Some series are leveraged to cast vision and other series will be topical in nature, all with the aim of helping people find and follow Christ. The Word of God is preached in all of types of these series.

We Teach From The NIV: We care more that the people of Mission Church are obedient to the Greatest Commandment and the Great Commission over what translation of the Bible they read. The decision to use the NIV is its history, accuracy and accessibility to people finding Jesus.

We Are For The 10: The Leadership of Mission Church was born and raised in The 10, The 10 is made up 10 towns residing within Routes 64, 59, 19 & 83. This has been a neglected area that has not seen church growth in decades. We are pointing our strategies and efforts to saturating these 262,000 people with the love of Jesus. However, people from all over the suburbs of Chicago call Mission their home and we love this. We challenge these families to Gather, Grow and Go back to their neighborhoods to live a missional life.

We Don’t Have Bible Studies: We don’t have small groups either. Every sunday we study the Bible together at 9:00am and 10:45am during our weekend gathering. We also believe that followers of Jesus can and should study the Word on their own and with others. A multitude of incredible study tools exist within the YouVersion Bible app and online. Being doers and not only hearers is clearly commanded in the Bible and we know people need more help doing than hearing.

We Gather, Grow, & Go: We will always call the people of Mission Church to gather as if church is family, each one doing his or her part. We call this Gathering Differently, our first value. Then we will call you to grow. This isn’t growth in the form of greater “depth”. This is growth in the form of greater dependency on the Holy Spirit. This is Growing Intentionally, our second value. This will compel you to obey the Great Commission and live out our third value of Going Missionally to help people find and follow Christ.

What we’ve seen over the past 7 years is that Mission Church is for anybody but it is not for everybody. If the vision, values, and approach of Mission Church align with and ignite your heart, that’s great. If not, that’s ok too. We don’t expect that Mission Church will be the best fit for everyone and there are other great churches in our area such as:

  • Village Church of Bartlett in Bartlett, IL.

  • Christ Community Church in St. Charles, IL

  • The Orchard in Arlington Heights, IL

  • Wheaton Bible Church in West Chicago, IL

Lastly, we wouldn’t be loving you well if we didn’t encourage you to prayerfully consider remaining at Harvest Bible Chapel to be agents of restoration and healing. The desire of Mission Church is to see Harvest Bible Chapel experience its best days in the years to come. What if you were a part of writing that story?
