CATCH THE WAVE | LENT 2015
Exploding off the pages of Romans 8 is a vision of a new kind of life, empowered by a new kind of law that is now within. "The Law of the Spirit, who gives LIFE has set you free from the law of sin and death." If you are IN Christ, that means God is moving in and sin (increasingly) is moving out.
In week 2 of our Romans 8 series, we talked about living this new Holy Spirit empowered life. This takes place as we desire, paddle, catch the wave and worship. Our "paddling" to posture and position ourselves to catch the wave, is what Spiritual Practices are in the life of a believer.
Practices such as: solitude - study - simplicity - celebration - confession - fasting
As Lent begins on Wednesday February 18th, we encourage you to jump in and begin "paddling". For centuries Christians have observed the 6 weeks leading up to Easter as a time to prepare our hearts and set our minds. What if Lent this year was a time you postured and positioned yourself to catch the wave of God's Holy Spirit?
Below is the teaching series on the 4 key Spiritual Practices we discussed in the summer of 2014 called "The Life You've Always Wanted". In addition to that, browse through the multiple video devotionals we've produced over the past few years. Bible engagement is transformational! Lastly, we highly recommend the Celebration of Discipline by author Richard Foster. This is a MUST READ!
The prayer of our staff, is that this Lenten season God would find the community of Mission out into the deep, paddling and positioning ourselves to live the kind of life that only the power of God can produce.
It's time to jump in!
