The Friday 5 : Cari Cook

The Friday 5 : Cari Cook

Each week we are highlighting someone at Mission who will answer 5 questions! Our church may be growing, but getting to know your neighbors should never be hard to do.

Cari Cook

The Facts: After working in higher education and leadership development for almost 15 years, I am now enjoying some time as a stay at home mom to my two awesome girls. I lead an amazing Brownie Girl Scout troop, serve on the PTO for my daughter's school and occasionally serve as a personal leadership coach.

1. In one word how would your friends describe you?

Quirky. I am an interesting mix of introvert, leader, deep thinker, pop culture trivia knowledge buff and former improvisational theatre performer/actress.

2. What is playing on your radio, iPod, etc?

When my kids are in the car I feel like I'm forever listening to the Frozen soundtrack...STILL. I love old school worship like Steven Curtis Chapman, Rich Mullins, Michael W. Smith and Amy Grant. However, if you happen to see me singing really loudly in my swagger wagon (err...minivan) you know it's Classic Rock or 80's Pop.

3. Who is the person who has had the biggest impact on your life?

My husband Andy came into my life with God's perfect timing. He is my best friend and biggest supporter. I am blessed with how he sets a spiritual example for our family and how I continue to learn from him each day.

4. Your last meal on earth would be where?

I'd pick a great big family potluck/barbeque. The exact menu wouldn't matter, but I love the smell of the grill, the sounds of kids playing and great conversation with family and friends.

5. What is one thing you love about Mission?

I love the authenticity of Mission Church. No one here is perfect. We are all struggling, learning and growing...but we do it by loving and supporting each other. I've been a part of other churches in my lifetime, but this is the first time I can truly say that I am part of a church that feels like home.
