THE FRIDAY 5
Each week we are highlighting someone at Mission who will answer 5 questions! Our church may be growing, but getting to know your neighbors should never be hard to do.
The Facts: I have 6 brothers and sisters, 8 nephews and nieces, and it's always a mad house at my parents; but always a blast. I love the outdoors, anything sunshine related, camping and all things adventurous. I often find that part of me is battling the love I have for binge watching Friends on Netflix. ;) I've been married ten months and I highly recommend marriage. It's a joy to share life with Jake. I am an ALL IN fan of University of Michigan football and go all "fan girl" over Jim Harbaugh, I also have something against Ohio, no offense - just the way I was raised. HA.
1. In one word how would your friends describe you?
I'm steadfast in the desire to make everyday a party, steadfast in my desire to love and learn about people- I'm way too curious and often force people to tell me about themselves, (Don't think it's weird please, my intentions are to learn your story and heart!), and steadfast in my desire to know Christ. I fail in all these areas, but my desire for all these things to control my day.
2. What is playing on your radio, iPod, etc?
I usually dread this question, because I feel like people use it to get to know me, but I am pretty passive with my music choices. I listen to top hits on the radio. However, I do have a never-ending love for Ben Rector's beautiful tunes. At work I like to listen to stand up comedy. (My hidden desire.)
3. Who is the person who has had the biggest impact on your life?
Jake, my husband is the most recent to make an impact- mostly because marrying him made the biggest shift in my life- sharing life, food and space. :) It's also been the biggest blessing. He models Christ better than anyone I've ever met, serves like it's his life's mission and loves so deeply. I'm too lucky to be his.
4. Your last meal on earth would be where?
Q39 in Westport, Missouri. - I lived in KC, MO for the first 8 months of my marriage, and their BBQ is honestly a little glimpse of heaven. It sometimes brings me to tears. Q39 is my favorite BBQ on the planet. If you're ever in the midwest, go. I dream about it weekly
5. What is one thing you love about Mission?
The thing I love most about Mission is the mission the church is built on. The fact that the Church is for the people, the neighborhood, and the members is something that always comes to action at Mission. In my short 2 months at Mission I have seen the impact and the SERIOUSNESS they have about their mission. They ain't messing around. There's something so beautiful about the church working hard to be actively doing what they believe they are here to do.
The mission and vision of Mission church is shown in each and every person I've met here. It's rockstar status.
