I can admit the first time I heard about Jon Peacock's idea for Mission Transit and Wheaton College students, I had a couple questions. One being, would Wheaton College students actually want to attend a church plant and would they get involved? The other was, would it be worth the cost to provide them transportation? As I parked the bus today, for the last time for this school year, I spent a moment thinking back to those original questions I had. While Mission Transit may not be the prettiest bus God used it in incredible ways in the past few months. There have been consistently 20-25 students riding it each week. During the last 60days more than half the students riding the bus also served on a Mission Team. That is amazing!
However, I would say today was the bus' finest hour. Today, Marshall Hollingsworth from Wheaton College was baptised with at least 35 students and friends watching him "Go Public" with his faith. It was an incredible scene to watch and be a part of. His story is just one of many from Wheaton students and Mission Transit.
Looking back over these last few months I am thankful for Jon responding to the burden God put on him for the students. Looking forward, I can't wait to see what God is going to do next through Mission Transit in the future!
