Student Expedition 2023 is here! We can't wait to go on this adventure to summer camp with your student. We will be taking middle schoolers and high schoolers (students who are entering 6th grade through students that have just graduated high school) to Expeditions Unlimited in Baraboo, Wisconsin from Thursday, June 8th - Sunday, June 11th. There are only 200 spots available, 115 for middle school and 85 for high school. Spots are filling up fast so don’t delay registering your student!

At camp, we’ll be focusing on this key verse: “God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭46‬:‭1‬ ‭NLT‬‬ God is sovereign over all things. He has the authority, power, and wisdom to do all that He pleases. Every part of God's creation—all places, events, people, situations, and even Satan—is under God's sovereign will and rule. God is sovereign over our daily lives and future plans, faults, and weaknesses. God is sovereign over our idols; sports, social media, video games, and dating relationships. God is sovereign over our reputation.

Gideon is a man of the Old Testament that is often underestimated. Like Gideon, we are an unfinished product. God is not looking for the best qualities and the most accolades. He is seeking those who, like Gideon, are regular people laboring for Christ in their daily lives. Having a relationship with God is the only way we can grow and strengthen our faith.

We’re adding a special aspect of camp for the class of 2023: Who Before Do.

Jon Peacock is going to help our seniors pre-decide who they will be in college. Research tells us that the first 48 hours determine the next 4 years. At camp, students will create a personal manifesto of who they will be.

  • A bad attitude

Your student will be away for 3 days at Student Expedition. Our hope and prayer is that your student will be able to unplug from their usual routines, fully immerse themselves at camp, and experience all that God has in store for them. We know cell phones can be a huge disruption and distract kids from completely enjoying their experience. For that reason, each student will be asked to turn in all electronic devices such as cell phones, iPads, Nintendo Switch, etc. at check-in. You as a family can choose not to bring it, but all electronic devices will be kept at the church and returned when we get back from our trip. We will have a photographer with us and they will capture pictures and videos so that students have memories to look back on from the trip!

Every adult leader will have their phone and students can request a phone call whenever they’d like to call home. If an emergency arises and you need to reach your student you can call either Joe Stephens at (708) 244-0860 or Jessica Bowman at (630) 229-3330.

This is a zero-tolerance policy. If your student is caught with electronics they will be sent home.

Camp costs $250 and covers all of your food for three days, transportation to and from camp, lodging, the Oasis, off-site, and on-site adventures! A payment plan is available. $125 is due upon registration and the remaining $125 is due by June 8th.

Fundraiser

We’ll be working with Goebbert’s Farm and selling flats of flowers at church on Saturday, May 13th and Sunday, May 14th (Mother’s Day). In doing this, we have been able to get the cost of camp down to $250. Please invite friends and family to attend with you on Mother’s Day to purchase flowers and help support our students to attend Student Expedition!
